On a short trip to Amsterdam and I am struggling to find anything even remotely resembling proper beer. As a stopgap I found something called Iki beer at Wagamama. Allegedly Iki means life in Japanese (according to the bottle) and this beer is infused with green tea for health and refreshment ... basically it just tasted like a mild lager ... though it was better than the Heineken the other half was drinking. Incidentally, I found the Hard Rock Cafe Amsterdam to be a little underwhelming, despite getting a 'free' glass with my €15 cocktail which consisted mainly of berries and mint leaves. Going to go and look for the Excalibur bar now!
